MAINTENANCE MANAGER

We are looking for a reliable maintenance manager to oversee all installation, repair, and upkeep operations of the company’s facilities. You will be the one to ensure that your colleagues have the best physical resources available to complete their duties.

A great maintenance manager will have a solid understanding of plumbing and electrical systems, carpentry and other crafts related to broiler chicken houses. They will be well-versed in all maintenance process and health and safety regulations. The ideal candidate will also have aptitude in undertaking administrative tasks such as reporting.

Responsibilities

  • Develop maintenance procedures and ensure implementation.

  • Carry out inspections of the facilities to identify and resolve issues.

  • Check electrical and hydraulic systems of buildings to ensure functionality.

  • Plan and oversee all repair and installation activities

  • Allocate workload and supervise upkeep staff (custodians, cleaners etc.)

  • Monitor equipment inventory and delegate with storekeeper.

  • Monitor expenses and control the budget for maintenance

  • Manage relationships with contractors and service providers

  • Keep maintenance logs and report on daily activities.

  • Ensure health and safety policies are complied with

Skills & requirements

  • Matric certificate.

  • 5 + years in the maintenance field.

  • Proven experience as maintenance manager or other managerial role will be beneficial.

  • Experience in planning maintenance operations.

  • Experience working on broiler chicken houses is beneficial.

  • Solid understanding of technical aspects of plumbing, carpentry, electrical systems etc.

  • Working knowledge of facilities machines and equipment

  • Ability to keep track of and report on activity.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Outstanding organizational and leadership abilities

DIESEL MECHANIC

We are currently seeking an experienced and talented diesel Mechanic to join our dynamic team. In this position, you will be responsible for constructing, maintaining, and repairing all machinery and vehicles (refrigerated trucks, tractors & bakkies). Your duties will include monitoring inventory, inspecting vehicles, and assembling machinery. This position will require you to work mostly with diesel refrigerated trucks, tractors, and general farm equipment.

 

To succeed in this role, you should be physically and mentally fit and have a solid knowledge of basic mechanic’s tools, service, and diagnostic equipment. Our ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail with excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct regular maintenance on machinery, systems, and automotive vehicles.

  • Meet with clients to better understand their concerns and identify the issue.

  • Assemble mechanical components according to specifications.

  • Examine machines and oversee diagnostic tests to determine functionality problems.

  • Design a plan of action for all maintenance tasks and upgrades.

  • Maintain work logs, repairs, and maintenance records.

  • Monitor inventory and order new parts through storekeeper when necessary.

  • Offer consultation on maintenance and preventative procedures to machine and vehicle users.

  • Perform vehicle assessments and alert clients on issues that will prohibit their vehicles from passing inspection.

Skills & requirements

  • Matric certificate.

  • Valid driver's license.

  • 5+ years’ experience in a similar role.

  • In-depth knowledge of vehicle diagnostic equipment and mechanical systems.

  • Strong attention to detail with an aptitude for problem-solving.

TRUCK DRIVER

We are looking for an experienced truck driver to transport perishable goods & livestock in a safe and timely manner.

Responsibilities

  • Transport perishable goods & livestock to and from manufacturing plants or retail and distribution centres.

  • Inspect vehicles for mechanical items and safety issues and report to the mechanical team.

  • Plan routes and meet delivery schedules.

  • Document and log work/rest periods and kilometres spent driving and retain fuel/toll receipts.

  • Input “macros” into our automated system for each stage of the loading and unloading process.

  • Comply with truck driving rules and regulations (size, weight, route designations, parking and break periods) as well as with company policies and procedures.

  • Manoeuvre trucks into loading or unloading positions.

  • Collect and verify delivery instructions.

  • Report defects, accidents, or violations.

Skills & requirements

  • Valid Code 14 license

  • Proven work experience as a Truck Driver.

  • Hands on experience with electronic equipment and software (GPS, AVL units, CB etc)

  • Ability to drive long hours and travel regularly.

  • Extensive knowledge of applicable truck driving rules and regulations

  • No recent moving or driving violations.

  • Adaptability and foresight to handle unexpected situations (traffic, weather conditions etc)

  • Willing to submit to background/drug checks and provide employment recommendations.

  • Experience with refrigerated trucks.

SECURITY OFFICER
